“Qi” means life energy and “Gong” means cultivation. Qigong is the “maintenance” of health and life energy.
There are a variety of types and styles of Qigong; in summary, a distinction is made between Medical Qigong, Martial Art/Sport Qigong and Spiritual Qigong.
The following principles play a major role in my Qigong class: breathing, movement, concentration, posture and relaxation. For this I use different movement sequences, from flowing, slow and simple movements to more complex, dynamic movement structures. The range of motion exercises usually takes place in a standing position, although they can also be performed in a sitting position (often in cases of injury or weakness).
